Chapter 9

Many comments are questions asking why she changed her lipstick colour today. “You guys sure are weird.” Mu Wanwan quickly creates a room and invites Pei Lu, “Isn’t it normal for girls to change lipsticks?” […The point is, you gotta be a female first and foremost, Wanan.] [You’re more excited than a male streamer every time you’re flaming your teammates.] [This is our rookie streamer that scolds people, please follow and subscribe!] In only three days, the audience already has a clear idea of this streamer’s true personality under her mask— She would be a pacifist in-game while she grumbles in real life. Simply put, she would put a smile on her face as she cusses you out. Mu Wanwan sighs, “…Don’t be like this, guys. There is still hope for me to rescue the situation.” [You’re basically unrescuable.] [Wanan, change your stream title quickly. You’ll definitely attract a lot of audiences if you say that you’re duo-ing with God Lu.] [So, in the end, why did you change your lipstick colour?] “Because I dropped that lipstick on the floor and it broke.” Mu Wanwan’s sorrow is clear on her face while her eyes automatically ignore all comments related to Pei Lu. The two successfully get their bottom lane combination and enter the banning phase. 【TS.Luu: What are you playing?】 Mu Wanwan is the fifth on the list, she can only pick her champion last. 【DepressedPrince: I can play everything. Let’s look at the team composition first… Don’t mind me, go ahead and pick what you want.】 Their teammates are shocked when they see their IDs. 【TS.Luu? Don’t tell me you’re the real thing.】 【TS.Luu: Hn.】 【We even have DepressedPrince on our team, too. Alright, we’re definitely winning this. Good luck, brothers. 】 Pei Lu, who is the first to pick, chooses Morgana. Mu Wanwan is surprised. Lulu had not been banned yet, so she did not expect him to not pick Lulu. However, she did not ask anything. The team composition is chosen very quickly. Their solo top lane picked Shen, their solo middle lane is Galio, their team definitely has enough tankiness* and they have the kit to initiate fights with no issues. (T/N*: Tanky, describing characters with high HP and defence.) The opponent’s bottom lane chose Varus and Lulu. When it is time for her to choose her champion, Mu Wanwan’s cursor keeps going between Caitlynn and Twitch as she contemplates for a long moment. When the counter goes down to the last ten seconds, she lifts her eyebrow as she suddenly moves her cursor and locks onto Jinx, catching everyone off guard. [Wtf? Jinx?] [Sigh, I’ve been camping her stream for three days now and I’m pretty sure she has not played a single game with Jinx.] Mu Wanwan makes sure her rune page is edited before she goes ahead and begins picking a skin for Jinx. [She doesn’t have a single skin for all the other characters, yet she has 3 of them just for Jinx! I dare to say that this streamer is a Jinx main*!] (T/N*: Basically, she plays Jinx often and is probably exceptionally skilled with this character.) [A Jinx main that has not even used Jinx a single time for the 3 consecutive days she has streamed so far?] After everyone finishes loading, all ten players enter the game. Mu Wanwan starts with Doran's blade, moving swiftly to her lane after auto-attacking the jungle creep a couple of times. Jinx has an extremely high attack speed. She does not miss a single last hit on the creeps for the first ten minutes of the laning phase. Other than harassing the opponent with her cannon mode, both parties return back to their base relatively peacefully. After purchasing her B.F. sword and two daggers, she mumbles with a grin on her face, “It’s time for a kill.” She is dressed up as a big sister today, yet she has recited that line in a way that makes her sound like a raged loli Jinx.
[Translation: This troll here is gonna create trouble now.] [God Lu, you’ll have to follow closely or she’ll be dissed!] Mu Wanwan does not see the comments. She opens the chat box in-game and types quickly. 【DepressedPrince: I have damage now.】 【TS.Luu: Okay.】 Both parties return to the lane. The other party seems to want to start a fight, too, since their position is extremely forward. Mu Wanwan aims her cursor backwards, clicking twice as she mumbles, “As usual, gotta pretend to be scared first.” After being locked in a stalemate for half a minute or so, Morgana follows her as she backs and suddenly turns back around and throws out a Q, successfully rooting Varus in place! Varus reacts immediately, aiming his ultimate at Mu Wanwan in response. Expecting the ultimate, she uses her flash with no reservations, successfully avoiding the ultimate while she throws out her flame chompers at Varus's feet. Lulu jumps in, immediately, wanting to use her W on Mu Wanwan to transmogrify her into a sheep to silence her. (PR/N: …HOW CUUUUTE!!) Instead, a purple shield appears on Mu Wanwan — Morgana’s E, which can provide a shield that blocks any crowd control skills before the shield is broken by AP damage. Lulu’s W is rendered useless while Varus is rooted twice. Morgana quickly follows up with her ultimate, stunning the other party, once again. Mu Wanwan begins dishing out damage without a care in the world, earning her a double kill without much effort. 【TS.Luu: Stand behind me during team fights.】 【DepressedPrince: 111111】 1 in-game represents “Okay, no problem”. Since it is much easier to type it this way, many people prefer using this internet slang. Soon, the first team fight is triggered. And this fight’s trigger point is… Mu Wanwan. With her usual “the enemy’s jungle is my home” idea, she sneaks into the opponent’s red buff camp after she finishes clearing the creeps at the middle lane. Unexpectedly, she runs straight into the enemy’s bottom lane duo the moment she goes inside the bush. “Wah wah wah wah wahー” Shocked, she leaves her snare trap on the floor immediately, successfully snaring Varus. Unfortunately, she is too close to them so there is no way she can dodge Varus’s ultimate, resulting in her receiving constant damage for two seconds. She glances at the minimap. Morgana is the closest to her but even then, she has only just reached the river. She begins clicking as if her life depends on it, trying to blast cone* in front of her as she blurts out, “Don’t, don’t, don’t transform into a sheep, save me, save me. Ahhh…” (T/N*: Blast cone is a jungle plant that spawns in the jungle and river on the map. When destroyed, it will knock away all nearby units within a radius. It can also send units over terrain.) She knows that her wailing serves no purpose and has already prepared to be the sacrifice in this team fight. Unexpectedly, at the next second, she hears a crisp sound of the skill “flash” being used, followed by a purple shield appearing on her again like a miracle! “Daddy!!! You* are here!!!” (T/N*: She used the formal term here.) The current Mu Wanwan is like a lost and helpless child, her tone sincere and intense. She has no problem with spewing crude words as long as she can escape death.
Pei Lu on the other side is frightened by her call for “Daddy”, causing him to nearly miss his skill. The rest of their teammates rush in to join the team fight while Mu Wanwan quickly drinks an HP potion and rejoins the fight. At this point, Mu Wanwan already has her Infinity Edge and Runaan’s Hurricane so her damage is extremely high. As the enemy’s top lane is still clearing creeps at the bottom lane, this team fight is relatively easy for them. With two tanks at the front line, Mu Wanwan switches to her cannon mode, ending the fight with just a few shots. 【TS.Luu: No need to take their red buff, our own red buff is spawning soon anyway. Let’s go, let’s return to base and come back out to get our red buff.】 【DepressedPrince: Okay.】 Although that is what Mu Wanwan answered, her view on the monitor remains locked on the enemy’s red buff camp. It is going to spawn in five seconds. “And just like that, I’m getting further and further away from it,” Mu Wanwan sniffs, “To think that it’ll be on Varus later, that thought alone is painful.” [Hahahaha the Oscar Award goes to you!] [I guess you’ll die if you don’t steal your enemy’s red buff, huh?] Mu Wanwan retaliates righteously, “I’m not a good ADC if I don’t steal their red buff, the same goes for the solo middle lane.” Just as she finishes her sentence, Morgana, who has been walking in front of her, pauses in her steps. Then, she turns back. Mu Wanwan pinged a question mark on the map. 【TS.Luu: … Their red camp has spawned. We’re close anyway, let’s take it.】 Jinx turns back, too, with no hesitation and goes back to steal the enemy’s red buff happily. Right after she clears the camp, the enemy’s top laner, Nasus, appears suddenly, casting his skill on her to reduce her movement speed. However, it is rendered useless again by Morgana’s AP shield, allowing her to escape. When the game ends, the MVP goes to Morgana. Mu Wanwan immediately invites Pei Lu to another game. [Didn’t you say you’ll revise for your exam after this game?] Mu Wanwan only recalls after reading the comment ー she still has an exam tomorrow. She merely contemplates for a second before she says, “One more, I’ll go off after the next one, I promise!” As she finishes her sentence, she receives a message. 【TS.Luu: I’m going offline.】 【DepressedPrince: Huh? Didn’t you say you’ll play two games...】 【TS.Luu: Next time, my coach is nagging and asking us to rest.】 【DepressedPrince: Oh, it’s fine then. Goodbye!】 【TS.Luu: Bye.】 When Pei Lu’s ID darkens, Mu Wanwan quickly turns off her game client as well. [Didn’t you say you’ll play one more??] “Nah, I’ve changed my mind,” Mu Wanwan smiles, her eyes curving like the moon, “The exam is more important, after all.” On the other side, Pei Lu leaves the stream, his hand idly spinning the pen in his hand as he looks thoughtfully at the small notebook in front of him. Before he started the game, he had intentionally prepared his notebook as he wanted to note down Mu Wanwan’s current shortcomings, this is also a habit he had from a long time ago. It has been a long time since someone could trigger his habit. Except, the only word he had for Mu Wanwan after a game wasー Unrestrained. As it happens, out of all the bad habits an ADC could have, being unrestrained is the hardest to fix. Wanting to harass the enemy whenever she sees one and always looking for trouble in the enemy’s jungle even though she is an AD. On top of that, she seems to especially dislike going back to the base. … She is practically the embodiment of the word “unrestrained”.
